Join us and make history by filming the last movie ever at (Jazzland) Six Flags New Orleans
My name is Jason Lanier, I’m the official Archival photographer/filmmaker for Six Flags New Orleans. II’ve shot at the abandoned Six Flags New Orleans for 12 years now, with the last two years being done in an official capacity to document the location as it’s tranformed from an abandoned theme park into a movie studio, entertainment district and more.
To pay homage to the park and it’s place in film history before it’s gone forever, I will be making a short movie called, “Ghost of Katrina” at the park in March 2025.
This is being done with my assistant Adam who took the lead on writing the script while I’ll be directing and producing the film. This will be pretty legendary as it will be the last movie filmed at Six Flags New Orleans before demolition is completed. And unlike other movies that have been made AT the park, this movie will be made ABOUT the park.
Ghost of Katrina Synopsis:
Five men and women sneak into the ruins of Jazzland, once a vibrant New Orleans theme park, now a dystopian wonderland. While they seek out adventure in the park, they get into trouble and attract the attention of a crazed former employee of the park. Trapped in the park after dark; the killer picks them off one by one.
Casting Call:
Lead Male
Sam: 21-25 years old. Anxious. Good dude, but timid. Instantly smitten with Lucy.
Lead Female
Lucy: beautiful, young, white female. About 25. Beautiful in an approachable way.
Supporting Roles
David: 21-25 years old. Tall. Jerk. Jockish. Wants to get with Lucy. Supposedly friends with Sam but treats him like garbage.
Gina: 21-25 years old. Rick’s girlfriend. Flirtatious tease.
Rick- Male. David’s best friend. His only goal is to get with Gina.
The Ghost: Tall male 40s-50s.
Ensemble Cast:
Security Guard: male, 30s-40s. Kind of sleazy.
Requirements:
Strong acting skills and the ability to work well in a collaborative environment
Commitment to the project and availability for rehearsals and filming
Willingness to work on a low budget independent film

This is an unpaid project, but cast members will receive a copy of the film and credit in the final cut.
